No mention in this article about a 2 door. Not that I really care, because I wouldn’t realistically buy one either way , but I think the 4 door looks butt. It looks like they grafted a bed onto the back of JL and called it a day. The wheelbase looks to be about 15 feet long.

2 doors do not sell. Everyone wants one for thier family/friends to fit in.
I doubt we’ll see a 2 door Scrambler, just like we aren’t gonna see a 2 door DT Ram.

Agree, but the 4 door makes it such a long vehicle that its off-road capabilities are hampered. I understand that people who buy it (like most wranglers) will never experience the limits of the departure and break-over angles, but still its pretty silly to sell a Rubicon spec version that will scrape over relatively small obstacles .

Well what else were you expecting?

Bold prediction: It’s gonna look like an AEV Brute with the JL styling updates.

The real problem here is that the bed hangs past the rear wheels so far. It looks to me like they didn’t stretch the wheelbase a ton
over the 4dr Wrangler... which helps to avoid bottoming out but makes the overhang at the back too big. But if you shorten the box you get the H2T problem. Ideally I think they take a chunk out of the box and make up some of it with an extended cab instead of a full 4dr.

I dunno, someone to take a few steps back during the design phase and say “wow, the proportions are really off on this thing”

Agree, there’s no good solution and I understand why it ended up the way it did. I think they could have gotten away with a slightly shorter bed, but it looks like this one is already short by modern pickup standards.

i hope thats just a test mule. The departure angle on that is going to be ridiculously bad if those proportions are real.
